It is 1924 and the family and staff of Feathershaft Hall have gathered
to commemorate the recovery of
the family Estate from wicked cousin Clarence in 1661.
But these are troubled times. The carnage and misery of the Great War
is a recent memory and the shock of the Depression lies just over the
horizon. Rich and poor alike are equally unsure of their place in the
new order and it is time for everyone to grab what they can.
But surely nobody would disturb the harmony and tranquillity of such a
fine occasion as this.
Would they?
